The Clutter Cutter ® is a PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZING firm.
Beware of Imitators - We are the federally registered "The Clutter Cutter', working nationally, based in Wichita, KS.
So, what is the difference between an "ORGANIZER" and a "PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZER"?
Many people are organized and love to be organized, and hang out a shingle and call themselves an organizing company. That does not mean they are a ‘professional organizer'. When comparing companies, how do you know which company to choose?
A Professional Participates in his/her chosen industry - Being a member of "The Organizing Authority", the "National Association of Professional Organizers" allows participation and shows commitment. However, just being a member without participating is like going to church and only sitting in the pew on Sunday mornings. You have to get involved to make a difference. There are other groups within the industry to participate in as well, including NSGCD, and Faithful Organizers.
A Professional always strives to improve his/her knowledge in the field, learning every aspect of the job - Learning is an integral part of any profession. There are opportunities available for professional organizers, and they involve committing time, money, and effort to engage in learning. NAPO conferences offer a variety of classes each year. NSGCD offers tele-classes every week on different organizing topics. Attending locally based seminars and classes also shows commitment to being a professional.
A Professional consistently works in his/her profession - Many organizers spend the majority of their time doing something other than organizing, because it's not really a profession, it's a hobby. A professional organizer is someone who spends the majority of their time working at organizing and getting paid to do so.
A Professional networks - You cannot be a professional in isolation. In addition to business groups, like BNI, networking occurs at social events, even online at sites like facebook or twitter. You will find a professional out in front, mixing in with people.
A Professional acts and dresses professionally - This includes not only working with clients, but at conferences and other activities. This doesn't mean always wearing a business suit, however it means wearing appropriate clothing, participating in appropriate conversation, and delivering high quality work that meets client expectations.
A Professional is credentialed - To become a Certifed Professional Organizer (CPO®), an organizer has to show 1500 paid hours, and pass a highly skilled exam. The exam tangibly demonstrates the ability to pass on organizing skills to a client, and demonstrates experience and credibility.
When you work with The Clutter Cutter ® Team, you can have the full assurance that you are working with a PROFESSIONAL organizing firm. Our organizing experts are members of NAPO, we have a member of the inaugural CPO® class on the team (held that title from May 2007 to May 2010), and we have many team members that actively participate in the learning and networking process. We work full-time to deliver full-time service.
We take our profession very seriously and that means serious results for you.
